Complete program of WSF Caracas 2006
Forum Program:
The program for the 2006 VI World Social Forum in Caracas has been released. The activities are divided into 6 major themes. Click here to view information on the themes.
1) Opening Activities:
On Tuesday, January 24th the opening ceremony of the 2006 World Social Forum in Caracas will take place. A march scheduled for 3:30pm, will start at la Plaza de las Tres Gracias and end at el Paseo de los Próceres. This location will be the setting for an Antiwar Concert. Activists from different countries will manifest declarations and artistic expressions against the WAR.
2) Self-Organized Activities:

Are the activities registered by the diverse organizations that are participating in the WSF. This schedule will include the time, the day and the organization that will be facilitating the activity. The program is available in alphebitical order according to the organization's name (must be read with the corrections) and by daily programs.

3) Co-organized activities:
Are the activities organized by the Hemispheric Council and renowned guests at the global level. The purpose of these activities is to highlight the relevant themes that have resulted from the political accumulation of the Forums. See below for more information.

4) Solidarity Tents:
These spaces of debate, social convention and culture, are where social movements, labour unions, NGOs and all people may meet to address specific themes.

5) Mural of Proposals:
This is an initiative that will help expose, promote and articulate the proposals of the diverse activities that take place at the WSF. For more information click here.
6) Book Mosaic:
This campaign will collect books for La Biblioteca Social Mundial – a project initiated in the 1st WSF of 2001 in Porto Alegre. The organizers of the Book Mosaic will solicit all participants to donate book on the themes of the WSF, in any language. more
7) Cultural Activities:
Is the cultural part of the WSF that has listed around 180 cultural groupings, which will offer different artistic expression within their culture such as: theater, dance, music, circus, poetry, paintings and other manifestations, which will reflect the presence of all the nations present.

8) Closing Activities:
The closing activities of the WSF will take place Sunday, January 29th in the evening. The activities will be an expression of resistance of the people against imperialism from their different visions and cultures. First, there will be a performance on human rights with the reading of a letter by the Sioux Indians, directed at the president of the USA when he made their land purchasable. The letter will be read in wuarao and sung by children. Also, representatives from the five continents will say orations from the different religions. Lastly, a grand party will close the WSF, in which various musical groups will play a variety of music and invite the audience to dance.
